Home improvements and renovations can be frustrating, daunting, and slow. I get it, especially with this latest renovation - a 1950's farmhouse that embraced the farm and not so much the house.
In order to honor the farmhouse feel of the home, we left portions of the beams exposed but finished off the walls and ceilings to allow for updated outlets, recessed lighting, etc. We also lightened up the floor and then layered in reclaimed wood furniture pieces to brighten the space and reintroduce the farmhouse vibe.
It's been hard but worth it. Sometimes, it's important to take a step back and remember the before so you can appreciate the after (or the current progress so far). Based on the photo below, I think we're doing okay on this job so far!!!
